  • DBS information, ICO registration, insurance, professional memberships
  • Bank details for payment

For Website Users:

  • Children and young people (clients): Clinical notes and session information are stored securely for 8 years after the last session, or until the client’s 25th birthday — whichever is later — in line with professional guidance for child counselling services.
  • Associate therapists: Profile data, payment records, contracts, and compliance materials are retained for the duration of the associate’s work with Finding Therapy and for up to 7 years after the end of their contract.
  • General enquiries and website users: Data is kept for up to 12 months unless a longer period is justified (e.g., legal proceedings or complaints).

You can request the deletion of your data at any time, and we will comply unless we are legally required to retain it.

We implement robust technical and organisational security measures, including:

  • Encrypted storage of personal and clinical data
  • Restricted access to therapy notes
  • Secure UK-hosted servers
